Cultural Psychology Lab

Welcome to Lan’s Lab — the Cultural Psychology Lab!

We are a cultural psychology laboratory located in the Bryn Mawr College Psychology Department under the direction of Dr. Zhenlan Wang (Lan).

At our lab, we investigate how mind and culture shape and influence each other across various domains, including emotion, morality, and social relationships. We seek to understand how individuals navigate everyday challenges (e.g., resolving interpersonal conflicts, handling moral dilemmas, etc. ) and how cultural knowledge helps build effective support systems in life.

Our research integrates qualitative and quantitative methods while embracing innovative approaches. For example, we examine cultural products both as reflections of social norms and as powerful educational tools that shape child development. Through interdisciplinary inquiry, we aim to uncover how culture informs human thought, behavior, and well-being.
